Small Production Runs
We prefer a slow approach in the way we produce our products, meaning we are careful not to overproduce, carefully considering our impact on the environment at every step. Each of our products is either one-of-a-kind or produced in small quantities based solely on demand.
Zero Waste
Our patchwork cushions are lovingly and patiently pieced together using offcuts. These special one-of-a-kind 'art piece' cushions help us to save small pieces of fabric from ending up as landfill.
Earth Friendly Packaging
It is important to us that our packaging represents our love for nature just like our products do. We really don't like single-use plastic, and we love trees, so when possible, we reuse what we already have on hand, and when buying new, we source recycled or other types of environmentally friendly packaging.
Why Orangutans?
Since learning about the destruction of orangutan habitat for palm oil plantations and how certain products contribute to this, the plight of the orangutan became a cause that we felt passionate about, one that changed our purchasing habits and one that we wanted to support through adoptions and donations to The Orangutan Project.
In 2013 our co-founder Natalie saw first-hand how TOP helped save orangutans. Natalie and her partner Michael traveled to Borneo with eco-tourism company Orangutan Odysseys and the founder and president of the Orangutan Project Leif Cocks. When they returned, Natalie painted the apes and monkeys from Michael's photographs, and together they set up a stall at a market to sell their work to raise money for our critically endangered cousins.
Natalie's 'primate' illustration from the fundraiser became our first print design for Nyattski.
